genuinly, from the bottom of my heart,
fuck the california and colorado age verifacation laws
shitty california law/bill /whatever the fuck it is
this is a trojan hourse. its not meant for child saftey
its meant for mass survalence
its meant to be able to see, "ok who will listen to this
law? and who will ignore it?"
we all already know windows wants this. and there is no
dougbt that they are goning to implent this
the bill states that it is for child saftey.
"This bill imposes obligations on covered manufacturers to
communicate certain information to developers, including age
bracket information, and to obtain parental consent before
allowing the download of apps for certain users."
"Requires a covered manufacturer to provide an accessible
interface at account setup that requires an account holder to
indicate the birth date, age, or both..."
but thats just how it starts. mark my words, when this bill
actually goes into effect, minors wont put the correct age
minors will just put over 18, like they always have
then california will complain 'minors are just setting themselfs
to be over 18, this age verivacation doesn't work' waa waa more
baby sounds 'we will start doing id verifacation as of [year/month]'
and the thing is, is that companies will go, 'well we made age
age verifacation and it wasnt to hard. i guess we can add id verifacation'
its a trojan horse.

i feel like this bill also heavily targets the foss community
developers have to pay fines for evry minor that falsifies their age
the thing about fos is that its free. the devs dont have much money
so haveing to pay a $7000+ fine per user who lies is a lot of money
i honestly think that the linux distro dev should make a popup when
downloading an iso that askes if they are 18
the mandates that dev only has to pay money if they find out that the user lies
but if the age check is on the website, there is no way to find out uf they lie or not
well i guess theres not really a way either way to find out if they lie
linux doesnt come with spyware so id would be kinda hard for distro makers to find out
also linux devs arent getting paid to add this stupid age verifacation feture
fuck you california. ive always hated you and your shit gun laws
now i just hate all of california and its shit politician
